Hello sweet friends!!

We hope you enjoyed your Holidays with family and friends!

We took off most of last week {unintentionally}, but really enjoyed our downtime with family.
 Since today is Monday and the last day of 2012, we are  introducing a new series ~ Motivational Monday! Each Monday, we will find a quote, verse, saying or just a word.....anything that has to do with Motivation and share it with you.

We thought this to be appropriate for the last day of 2012:

 Happy New Year to all of you!!

See you all in 2013!!!

This was not a normal Monday morning here at the Kirlin house! I woke my kiddos up for school. I held my 1st grade daughter a little tighter as a tear rolled down my cheek. I watched as my son, not yet school age, sleep peacefully in his bed. Wondering what the day had in store for us. As I drove my daughter up to the school this morning, I noticed many parents parking and walking their kids in, instead of just dropping them off at the curbside. I try to walk my daughter in at least every other day, just because I enjoy it and because she often requests it! Today, I too, walked my daughter in! I greeted her teachers, as I usually do, but this morning each of them were somber and as we hugged, tears weld up in our eyes. We blinked them away before the kids could see the anguish and sorrow. I gave my angel girl one last hug as I slowly walked out of the school, fighting the urge to turn around and take her back home with me!
I, like many, have several things that need to be done for Christmas, but today it does not seem so important! My heart breaks for all the families that lost a loved one on Friday in Newton, CT!

26 new stars in the sky

This was not a normal Monday morning here at the Kirlin house! I woke my kiddos up for school. I held my 1st grade daughter a little tighter as a tear rolled down my cheek. I watched as my son, not yet school age, sleep peacefully in his bed. Wondering what the day had in store for us. For several weeks and even months, I have been shopping for Christmas gifts! I hide them in a special place every year. This year, I'm seriously thinking about making or purchasing some Santa Sacks for the kids for all these gifts!Have you heard of this wonderful tradition? Each year the kids have their own Santa Sack {that is a reusable drawstring bag} to hold all their Santa presents! On Christmas Eve, the kids leave the sack at the foot of their bed to be filled by Santa and placed out by the Christmas tree. All the gifts inside are unwrapped! That would save me hours of time, as we usually wrap ALL of our gifts except the large Santa gifts {bikes, basketball nets, desk...}. The tradition we had growing up is the one my husband and I have decided to keep for our kids ~ wrap all the gifts but the large ones! My husband's tradition was ALL Santa gifts were unwrapped just waiting for him and all of his siblings under and in front of the Christmas tree on Christmas morning! He is one of seven kids ~ can you imagine......! That scares me just thinking about it!! We only have two kiddos, but I think the thought of all their Santa gifts in one sack {each personalized with their names on it}would be a whole lot of fun! And I'm thinking my in-laws were thinking along those lines ~ no wrapping and wasting money and time on all that beautiful paper year after year, when the kids just rip through it in seconds!

Or maybe instead of buying one you would like to make one or have your mom make one {this is what I would do if my mom lived closer to me}!
We found a tutorial for you:

Can you imagine getting up on Christmas morning to one of these beautiful Santa Sacks? These are so pretty, I might put one on my Christmas list ~ can you imagine the look on my husband's face when he reads that? hee hee

What is your family tradition? Do you wrap all the Santa gifts or leave them unwrapped? Are you now thinking about the Santa Sacks for your kiddos? Please leave us a comment, we'd love to hear!

Have a Fabulous Day!!!

Today is the official start of the 12 Days of Christmas celebrating my husband!

I have 3 days of presents purchased and wrapped! I'm in the process of wrapping the others! For the first three days, I have a bottle of his favorite cologne, 2 of his favorite types of candy and a photo frame that holds 3 photos of our kiddos! I'm in trouble if he has time to get on his computer and read this post!! hee hee Lucky for me he isn't on Facebook, so he won't automatically see this!!
What are you buying your husband for Christmas? Do you buy him a lot of little gifts or one large gift or a little of both? I love spoiling my husband, so I buy him lots of little ones and usually one big one!

Have a Great Day and I hope if you are playing this fun game with your husband you will share your ideas with all of us here at BellaGrey Designs!

While I have been busy rushing around this year between BellaGrey Designs projects and my families' needs,  I had to stop to think about one of the most important people to me ~ my husband! I have decided to give him the 12 days of Christmas this year! I know the 12 days of Christmas technically start after Christmas, but we will be starting this Thursday, December 13th, so I can show him he means the world to me! If you'd like to take advantage of this fun little game and do this for your husband it's not too late!  I am not going to go overboard, just a little token of my love and appreciation for him each day for 12 days! Do you ever do this with your husband or boyfriend?

The rules are simple:

1)  Begin on December 13th and end on December 24th {Christmas Eve}
2) Each day give your husband a small gift to correspond with the 12 days of Christmas {see the list below to get some ideas}

Cost:
Can be minimal and can fit in your budget! Be creative, but this will be fun for both of you! Add some homemade goodies or coupons to help it be budget friendly!

This is what I'm thinking so far:

Day 1: One item ~ maybe give him a little larger present here since it is only on item! Or a handmade coupon for a massage by you! A book or CD by his favorite artist or author! Write him a love letter!

Day 2: A pair of something ~ gloves, socks, tickets to a concert or game {for you & him}!

Days 3 - 9: Think packages ~ candy, soda, golf balls, tennis balls, under shirts, briefs....you get the idea. My husband like photos of all of us ~ so I have a frame that holds 3 photos! Little love notes tucked inside his lunch or brief case! Stickies stuck to his mirror or inside this car!

Days 4-11: Here's where you will need to get creative ~ but think small too! Gift cards to his favorite lunch restaurants for that amount ~ if he likes Subway think about a $7 gift card that should cover his lunch for the day! Or a Starbucks card for $10! Gift cards are great because you can get them in any amount! Maybe pack him a lunch with all of this favorite goodies inside!

Day 12: This one is fun ~ think a dozen! Dozen cookies; a calendar {because there are 12 months},  renew his gym membership for a year or subscription! Create your own CD with all his favorite songs!

Once you have all your gifts, wrap them up and number them so you know which gift corresponds with each day! Hide them well so he won't find them. When you go to give them to him, make it a game {a little like the  Elf on the Shelf} hide a gift in a different place each day for him to find ~ his briefcase; his suit coat; in his car. If you access to his office that would be fun too!

This will take a little effort on my part, but I think my husband will be truly surprised and happy to have this new tradition!

I don't have all my gift ideas ironed out yet, but I'm  working on it! I'd love to hear your ideas! I will share with you after the 12 days, what my husband thought!

Have a Super Great Day!!!

A few years ago, we started giving our kiddos pajamas for Christmas! On Christmas Eve they open one gift each ~ which is always some fun pajamas! This has become a family tradition. I'm looking at these fun ones this year, what do you think?

Just found these by Hanna Anderson ~ super cute, so I had to add them to the mix!!!

I really like this tradition! We always got to open one gift on Christmas Eve, but it usually was a gift from a relative who was there celebrating Christmas Eve with us. I am not sure what made me start giving my kids pajamas each year, but they seem to enjoy it!

What traditions do you have with your family? Did you have those same ones as a kid?

We would love to hear about your Christmas or Holiday traditions!

Have a Super Great Day!!

You know how much I LOVE Oreos, right?
What until I share this mouthwatering post with you!!! One of my new friends, Ashley of Sugar and Cloth introduced this to her readers about a month or so ago, I came across it when searching for other things and just knew I HAD to share it with all of you!!!!

Does this look divine or what? My mouth just waters when I look at the photo!! Yep, you got it right ~ Peanut Butter Oreo Cupcakes!! All of my favorite things wrapped up in one pretty little package!!! Wonder if Ashley would make me some if I asked her really nicely!! Oh wait, she shares the recipe on her blog! I'm thinking these would be good enough for breakfast, come on, you know you were thinking the same thing!! {hee hee}

The only bad thing is that my kiddos are allergic to peanuts & peanut butter ~ does that mean I would have to eat these all by MYSELF?? Hmmmm........
Go give our new friend some love and grab the recipe while you're at it!!

Have a Super Fabulous Day!!!
