You'll NEVER believe what it's made of  ~

SANDWICH BAGS!!!! Can you believe that???? Yep, take a look at the materials needed:

Materials
  • White wire clothes hanger
  • Wire cutters
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • About 100 plastic sandwich bags (the fold-over, not ziplock, kind)

Bow (see "How to Tie a Triple Bow")

I've had many requests to share the tutorial for these super fun and easy glass bottle snowmen, we made for our Shiver Christmas Collection
Here's my version of this great craft:

  • a 9.5 oz. bottle {can be glass or plastic}
  • white doughnut holes
  • felt squares ~ cut into strips
  • snowflake embellishments
  • plastic top hats
  • "snowman" carrot nose
  • cookie decorating gel
  • straws

Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino 12/9.5 oz

  • We used these great bottles ~ had to drink at least 6 of them for this photo shoot ~ thankfully not in one day!! After they were empty, we removed the plastic label and we had a great bottle for our project. **These also work really well as drinking bottles for other parties** Just saying!! Add some milk for the "body" of the snowman.
  • Take the doughnut hole and add some eyes with the black cookie decorating gel {found in the baking section of a grocery store or craft store}. Take the doughnut hole and pierce a hole through the center with a ice pick or large food pick.
  • Pierce a hole through the top of the top hat with a ice pick or another sharp object ~ make the hole large enough to fit the straw through it. Place the straw through the top hat and doughnut hole & into the milk. Glue or use double sided tape to attach snowflake to hat. **Found all the embellishments at Hobby Lobby**
  • Place the snowman's "nose" into the doughnut hole
  • To make the miniature scarf, cut felt into 12 1/2" strips and tie around neck of bottle. Place a few snowflakes on the scarf ~ the snowflake will stick to the felt, but you can glue them too.

That's all there is to it!! So easy! I got the idea when I saw this snowman, but wanted to add some other fun twists to it.

Do you have any other ideas on how to make these cute snowmen? I'd love to hear about them and see them!!

Happy Thursday everyone!! Hope your day is going good so far.
I have a question to ask all of you.....we have two small children and this year both understand we do the Advent calendar and the Christmas Advent chain. However, every night, there are power struggles ~ they both want to do the Advent calendar and they're not very interested in the Advent chain. Right now, we have the kids take turns each night which one gets to get the ornament inside. Then the one who picks the ornament places it on their own tree in their rooms. Do I purchase another Advent Calendar? So we have two? This is what our calendar looks like

as you can see, the doors are rather small {we place tiny ornaments inside}. We can only fit one ornament behind each door.  I want to stop the fights and I hate to get each child their own Advent calendar, but at the same time, if each one has their own, when they get older they can have it for their families. What do you think? What would you do or what do you do if you have more than one child?

Hope you have a Super Great Day!!

Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in the busy Christmas season with the parties to attend or host, shopping to do, Christmas programs to attend, baking to finish or start, gifts to wrap....the list goes on and on!
The TV ads tell us all about the "stuff" we can buy ~ the latest toys, hottest gadgets, the coolest things. Christmas shows from our childhood bring back all those warm fuzzy feelings we had as a child. While they usually have a good message, they usually don't mention what Christmas is all about.

Most of the time, we find ourselves rushing through the month of December, only to realize we hadn't prepared our children for what Christmas is all about. We may have shared the Christmas story with them, but we missed so many other great moments that we could have had throughout the month, to teach them more, because we were so busy getting everything done.
