Happy Thursday everyone!! Hope your day is going good so far.
I have a question to ask all of you.....we have two small children and this year both understand we do the Advent calendar and the Christmas Advent chain. However, every night, there are power struggles ~ they both want to do the Advent calendar and they're not very interested in the Advent chain. Right now, we have the kids take turns each night which one gets to get the ornament inside. Then the one who picks the ornament places it on their own tree in their rooms. Do I purchase another Advent Calendar? So we have two? This is what our calendar looks like
as you can see, the doors are rather small {we place tiny ornaments inside}. We can only fit one ornament behind each door. I want to stop the fights and I hate to get each child their own Advent calendar, but at the same time, if each one has their own, when they get older they can have it for their families. What do you think? What would you do or what do you do if you have more than one child?
Hope you have a Super Great Day!!
xoxo,
I have 2 little ones as well and we thought about starting the advent this year. However, we thought about the fights as well. I am not 100% sure on what I would do, but, maybe try giving something to the other one that doesn't get the ornament. Maybe a sticker or piece of candy. Could you do one small tree in a central place like on a table or in the dining room, instead of their rooms, that way it wont seem so possessive and will be more of a family thing?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions! We may try the centralized tree!! :)
ReplyDeleteI would get each their own. It is a great tradition and then they can share their advent calendar with their families when they get older, there will be no more power struggles and only good memories.
