Multi-tasking is what I do, it's a necessity in my life. When I explain to people what my day entails, they are surprised to find out, on top of everything else, I am a small business owner and now a college student! Yes, I am heading back to school. As such, my nights and weekends will be bursting at the seams. Because this time is valuable to me, to spend with my family and friends, I need to make this process as efficient as possible. I came up with several tips which helped me when I decided to undertake this project.

Tips for going back to school with confidence
  • Have confidence in yourself and your ability to take this step
  • Take a tour of the campus if you are unfamiliar with it
  • Consult an academic advisor, they are there to help you through this process
  • Ask your advisor if the school uses certain technologies to help keep you apprised of any school and/or professor announcements
  • Take a lighter load the first semester, this will help you adjust to your new routine
  • Spread out your courses, so you aren't taking classes only 2 or 3 days, this will also help with balancing your schedule
  • Make sure you know where all of your classes are located prior to the first day
  • The night before school starts, set everything out you will need to take with you, so you aren't rushing in the morning
  • Go to bed early {if you are able} to get a good night's rest before your first day

Tips for staying organized and managing everything at home
  • Have a dedicated work space for your school needs, separate from your everyday home needs
  • I use this calendar for all the activities in my life {including my kids and hubby's activities}
  • Put together a command center, so everything is in one place
  • Make sure you have all the tools you need {stapler, staples, scissors, tape, paper, printer, computer at your fingertips}
  • Take a deep breathe, you've got this!!

Speaking of printers, I found the perfect one. The HP Deskjet 3752 All-in-one. It's the world's smallest printer! My favorite feature, besides the size, is its wireless! Which means I can print from my smartphone or tablet. I'm pretty excited about this, since most of my note taking at school will probably be on my tablet!

So simple to set up too. Follow the quick set-up guide, connect to your wifi network at home and install the drivers. Did I mention, it prints more than twice as many pages with the original HP high-yield ink cartridges?

I was able to purchase my new HP printer at my local Walmart in the electronics department. Look down the office printing aisle to find your own HP Deskjet 3752 All-in-one.

I used my new HP printer to print off my calendar and a printable of lunch note card funnies I designed for my kids lunches. You can download your FREE lunch notes here and FREE calendar here.

People are a whole lot busier now than ever, stay organized and take full advantage of those hours while the kiddos are in school. Are you planning on going back to school after taking some time off? Or taking on another responsibility? What tips do you have?
