Creating Signature Cocktails for Spring

Spring is the perfect time to breathe a little freshness into your life. You have probably already begun adding some new spring apparel to your closet. If you participate in ritual spring cleaning, you likely have also added some new décor to your home or at least rearranged the furniture for a fresh look. After the long winter, your taste buds may be craving a change as well. One of the most popular trends in the restaurant and catering industry today is the mixing of signature drinks. Rather than going out to enjoy these delights, I like to mix mine at home for myself and family or friends.

Recently, I stumbled upon a great cocktail recipe while attending a wedding at the Shenandoah Central New York Golf Club. The jade butterfly martini, as it is called, features a sweet, citrusy flavor and makes a great treat for guests at Easter brunch.

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a martini shaker and strain over ice into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a fruit for presentation.

Have fun mixing it up this spring with signature cocktails! You don't have to go out or spend lots of money to enjoy new flavors. Whether you enjoy them alone or with friends, have a good time and remember to drink responsibly.

Best Dressing Tips for Tall Women

For all those women who are naturally tall maybe even more than 6 feet, fashion trends may turn out to be a disaster, be it a pair of jeans, t-shirt, skirt or dress, most of them looked turned down due to the height. Fashion trends often put out by celebrities cannot be adopted due to the height.

But here is a list of trends that can be adopted, no matter how tall you are:

  

·         Any burnt orange, peach or tangerine color dresses can be adopted by tall women as these can nicely compliment their height.

·         Bright yellow accessories are the in thing for tall women this season as the focus is turned to these accessories.

·         Head to toe black may be the ideal choice for someone who is tall as the color can bring out a tall woman’s great figure complimenting the height.

·         Another ideal choice for a tall woman to look sexy in is a long sleeve mini, as this dress with its full sleeve can make one look slender but shorter.

This season fill your wardrobe with colors that go with your height. The following colors are best suited for tall women, but be aware that tall women must always avoid going head to toe monochromatic. If your long dress is of a solid color, make sure to break it up with a belt or a long necklace of a contrast color.

·         Misty sun faded blue: This shade would go for any skin tone and can be your choice of a dress this season if you are tall. A contrast of white and bronze with this color would be the ideal choice to make you look more wonderful.

·         Shades of white: White is now available in so many shades, which includes beige, pearl, vanilla, ivory and champagne. Although the difference between these shades is not easily noticed, make catch pair of white shorts, skirt and blouses to add to your wardrobe.

·         Teal, Aqua and Island blue: These colors inspired by the sea are deep and true; they are also bright and rich at the same time. But you must be aware that these shades don’t appeal to every skin tone but all tall women must consider wearing them as accent colors.

Hi BellaGrey Design readers!!  It is so lovely to be here, thank you Jennifer for asking me to guest post! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Natalia and I blog over at Ma Nouvelle Mode. If you are wondering what that means, it is French for 'my new style.' Now you are probably wondering "why French?" Well, it just so happens that I am living here in France with my husband and two boys. My husband plays basketball here, and the boys and I are his biggest fans! Over at my place, you can find a mix of fashion, beauty, hair, makeup, and of course some of our crazy life of traveling the globe. But today with Christmas upon us, I thought I would do a post on holiday beauty ideas! Here are a few tips of mine for you to mix it up a bit and feel beautiful for all those holiday parties I am sure you get to attend!

 1.)  Try a bold lip!  I am not sure if this is out of your comfort zone or not, but it is such a small thing, putting on lipstick, and it adds so much!!  Nervous about wearing red?  Try a hot pink or a deep purple.  You can jazz up a simple outfit with just a lipstick!  Doesn't that sound great?

2.)  Sequins!  I put together this outfit below on Polyvore.  If you haven't heard of Polyvore, it's soooo fun.  I think this outfit could be casual or fancy, whatever you need it to be!  You could wear your hair sleek and straight or some big sexy curls parted to the side with the headband showing on the side with less hair.

holiday outfit by manouvellemode featuring mid heels I said this was my holiday outfit, but that's kinda a lie.  I wish this was my holiday outfit.  I wouldn't wear those heels (I am 6 feet tall, I would be huge!)  

3.) Try something fun and different with your hair!  I know that a lot of us ladies get into a routine that works for us and then rarely change it.  I want to challenge you to try something new with your hair.  I have quite a few hair tutorials on my blog, but try some big sexy curls, braids, buns, there are so many options! 

 Here are some ideas using braids.

4.) Prepare!  Sounds easy right?  It is!  I don't know about you, but there has been multiple times when I had an outfit in my head and it was just perfect.  I thought I was gonna be turning heads left and right.  Then the day came to wear said outfit and after putting it on I realized my mind had deceived me!  Take some time to prepare exactly what you want to wear, shoes to jewelry, a couple days ahead and you will be good to go! If you are wondering what that means, it is French for 'my new style.' Now you are probably wondering "why French?"
