BellaGrey Designs: Halloween
Halloween
Hi friends! Even though it has taken me WAY longer to decorate for fall than it usually does, I am happy to say I finally have some of the house decorated! Fall is one of my favorite times of year, with the cooler temps, pumpkin everything and all the seasonal treats we can eat.

I usually keep my fall decor pretty simple. This year I included my all time favorite fall decoration ~  Mr. Funnybones! I can't decorate without him. He tends to move throughout the house during this time of year {you've seen him many times - here and here}. Different sized black bats adorn the kitchen cabinets as well as the upper half of the wall and a metal haunted house, I've had for years sits in the background behind Mr. Funnybones. It adds just the right amount of Halloween.

Mr. Funnybones was having so much fun during the photoshoot, at one point he donned a witches hat! To add a little pop of color I picked up these beautiful faux orange peonies and added a mini wood Blessed sign along with a ceramic pumpkin and faux pears in my woven bread basket.

To add height and a little more texture to the kitchen, I placed my large round marble/wood cutting board behind the range and included some faux wheat stalks. Placing a few neutral colored pumpkins ties the color scheme together. Can you tell Mr. Funnybones is tired of being photographed? He appears to be ready to jump off the counter. LOL

If you're interested in the black bats, I have created a FREE printable. To download the Halloween Bats PDF, click here OR you can right-click on the picture to copy it to word or another program.

If you decide to use the bats, I'd love for you to tag @BellaGreyDesigns in your social media posts.

Happy Fall y'all!

Simple Kitchen Halloween Decor + a FREE Printable

Affiliate links are included in this post, which means if you make a purchase using one of the links, I will earn a small commission, but it will not cost you one penny! But it does help to keep my website running. Thank you! The following is based strictly on my honest opinion. I only recommend products and brands I love and use personally.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of being the guest stylist once again at my local Pier 1. I styled 1 bar cart 3 ways for a fun Halloween style event.

Since Halloween is "traditionally" orange and black I styled one to please those senses! While I do like the traditional colors, I LOVE stepping outside of the box and styling with very "untraditional" colors and items!!

Its totally OK if you don't have a bar cart, I styled this simple grey accent table as a bar cart and BONUS it has wheels for easy transport and for a party on the go!!! OMGEEEE, how darn fabulous are those copper pumpkin tumblers??! I absolutely love them and how about the mini copper Moscow mule mugs {they are actually ornaments, but I would use them as shot glasses}! Add a few Halloween elements such as these yoga skeletons, a Wicked pillow, glitter pumpkins and my Frightful banner {you can find that in my shop} you have a great bar cart alternative!

I love the mystical colors and feel of this Celestial  bar cart I styled and added the Witchin' Good Time invitation as well, you can see more of the Witchin' Good Time party here. Using this color palette, you could leave this bar cart "dressed" this way for Fall, removing all the mini pumpkins if you would like. This particular themed cart would be magically beautiful for a frightful evening party!

I love pulling out my bar cart and all of my pretty glassware, when I have my girlfriends over. This Silver and Blush bar cart works anytime of year and for any occasion - Halloween, Christmas, Girls Night In, Baby/Bridal Shower and Brunch.

Don't be afraid to "shop" your house for items to place on the bar cart. As you can see I used a blush pink hurricane candle holder as my wine bucket and the modern silver long bowl as a decorative element on the bottom shelf, along with petite glass pumpkins! Most people don't have a set of 10 matching glasses, not to fret, mix and match them! It will look like you did it on purpose and no one will ever know. The mixture of metals is also a great design element, so mix and match away! However you decide to style your bar cart, just have fun with it!

The Boos and Booze invitation is new to my shop this year! There is still time to plan and throw your Halloween Soiree! So grab your friends and party the night away! The invitations are available as a PDF file so you can print and hand them out to your guests.

In my opinion, a bar cart is a statement piece and can be an extension of your personality. As a bonus, it holds your entertaining essentials! On any given day, my bar cart holds mini spritzer waters, mini champagne/wine bottles, pretty glassware, stirrers and straws!

Here are many reasons why I love using a bar cart for my parties:

1) Versatility
2) Show off your pretty glassware
3) Functional
4) No reason to move the conversation

Bar cart essentials:
  • Ice bucket
  • Decanter
  • Cork screw and bottle opener
  • Cocktail shaker and strainer
  • Muddler and mixing spoon
  • Cocktails picks, napkins, coasters and straws

How do you style your bar cart? Have any additional ideas I did not share here, if so leave me a comment, you never know, I may style a bar cart with your ideas/recommendations!

I absolutely love being Pier 1's guest stylist throughout the holiday season! I would love to see you at my next event, so mark your calendar for November 3, 2018 at 11:30a for my Thanksgiving Style Event! RSVP here >>

Drop in for a spell.........I concocted this fun Witchin' Good Time Halloween Party with the help of, Oriental Trading.  Halloween may traditionally be all about black and orange, but this year I added a fun twist and threw in turquoise! The spider web covered dessert table is frightening fun and oozing with some witchin' good inspiration!

All to often Halloween is decorated with scary elements, but for this Witchin' party, I wanted to make it fun and kid friendly. My family loves celebrating Halloween but not necessarily in a scary way!

Here's how to make your party a success. I always like to start with the design of the invitation and work off that as I create and style the party. Ask your guests to dress up in the theme, this helps them really get into the fun of the party. If you host a witches party, this costume is pretty easy to throw together! All you need is a witches hat, a black dress and some fun shoes.

One of my favorite details is the ribbon cake I made with beautiful black ribbon. If you are interested, I will create a tutorial so you can make your own. I first introduced it to you here

FUN TIPS FOR YOUR WITCH' GOOD TIME PARTY:
  • Shop your home, your friend's and relatives! You will be surprised at what you can find. Almost everything shown is what I had on hand, I borrowed or made.
  • The witch with cauldron set the tone for my backdrop and I love it! It is incredibly visual and striking!
  • I used the Halloween Silhouette decor kit and embellished my backdrop wall.
  • I wanted to add some color to the top of the backdrop, which I did when I hung the colored paper lanterns
  • The fun black fringe gave it a spooky feel.
  • You know how much I LOVE my Cricut! I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut out "Drop in for a spell" and used the same colored paper to cut out flames for the cauldron.
  • Adding decor to match your theme is very important, it ties everything together. The black and turquoise pumpkins are perfect for this party!
  • You can't have a witches party without a spell book! You can find the tutorial here + FREE printable!

Are you ready for Halloween? I hope this party gets you excited to host your own Witchin' Good Time party!

Halloween decor can have so many different looks, from spooky to chic to traditional and modern! Using decor from At Home, we styled two main areas of our house, a spooky but fun Halloween front porch and a chic tablescape.

Creating Halloween front porch curb appeal doesn't have be a daunting task! We will share a few tricks with you to make it easier.

Head to your local At Home store, where they provide a full solution for your home, with a large selection of specialty products for Halloween. Here is the list of items we picked up, the life size poseable skeleton, a few black crows, bag of bones, spider fence, giant black spider, striped spider, smooth chain, chain with shackles and a few colorful pumpkins

We started with a wooden chair, we painted to match our decor. Draped a creepy cloth over the chair and sat the life size skeleton down and posed it waving at friends and family.

Add a spider and a few black crows to the skeleton's body, for a fun flair.

Take the two chains and wrap them around the chair and the skeleton's feet.

Place the bag of bones in a black lantern or vase for the full creepy effect.

Next add the spider fence around your display and you can call it quits. But if you'd like to add more, like we did, simply add the fun colored pumpkins and the giant spider to the stairs, if you have them.

Our chic and modern tablescape is one you will want to take note of, especially because of the everyday low prices At Home has, it allows you to decorate on a budget.

You will notice we used some of the same decor elements you saw on the front porch. We decided not to go with the traditional orange and black, but instead with the turquoise pops of color. It adds a little mystery and chicness.

Aren't the place settings fabulous? We found these metal spider wall plaques in the Halloween section and just could not pass them up! We knew they would be perfect on the table and they are the perfect size.

The black crows, mini skeleton heads, spiders and colorful pumpkins make this table perfect for your Halloween soiree.

Have fun with your decor, like we did when we posed the life size skeleton drinking from his wine glass or this one above holding a mini pumpkin! Halloween decor is all in how you style it. It can be fun, creepy, traditional or modern. Whatever you do, make it your own and have fun!

Don't forget to check out the full Halloween collection At Home here.

Happy decorating!
