BellaGrey Designs: party
party

Cinco de Mayo is ALMOST here and I couldn't be more excited! It is one of my favorite days of the year. You know these SPICY MARGARITAS will definitely be at the party! This is the perfect margarita for Cinco de Mayo {in my opinion}.

Affiliate links are included in this post, which means if you make a purchase using one of the links, I will earn a small commission, but it will not cost you one penny! But it does help to keep my website running. Thank you! The following is based strictly on my honest opinion. I only recommend products and brands I love and use personally.

Made with fresh lime juice and agave syrup, these can easily be made for a crowd or a single cocktail. This deliciousness is everything you will need to go with your tacos - I promise you, it is THAT good!

I associate margaritas with sunny patios, good friends and fun times, so you could say they are pretty much part of my happy place! I love a good margarita on the rocks, as long as it is fresh. Sometimes I will go for the frozen margs, but if there is a fresh one on the menu - sign me up!

  *you will LOVE the Sriracha Hot Sea Salt - you can find it here!

Looking for a Cinco de Mayo party idea? Take a look at this one I styled a few years ago!

This recipe is one of my go to signature drinks, if you make it let me know how you like it and if you need any help finishing up a pitcher.

Friends it's time to get your #girlsquad together to celebrate the end of summer!

What is the perfect way to bring timeless elegance to your soiree? Simply mix these two rich colors and accent it with gold starburst napkin rings! What I love about this setting is it can be replicated year round, and for almost any occasion. A girls night, bridal shower, dinner party or birthday.  To make it a more casual setting you could simply remove the napkin ring and tie the napkin with a loose knot, remove the chargers and place a tablecloth, to use as the foundation on the table. Hosting a larger scale event, but don't have enough sitting space at the table? I have you covered, add a few chairs on either end of the table, this will keep it looking elegant. Did you run out of your matching set of silverware? Don't worry, mix and match your silverware, it will look intentional, especially if you have the same setting at every other chair.

I have some exciting news to share with you ~ I have partnered with Pier 1 for an upcoming local event here in the Irving/Las Colinas area! I will be hosting a Table Top Workshop next weekend, so if you are local, I'd love to meet you! As an added bonus, Pier 1 is offering all of the guests who attend the event a 10% discount! I will be sharing more details as we get closer to the event date, so make sure you are following BellaGrey Designs on all social media channels!

Have a super great Friday friends!!

Let's be honest, my kids birthday parties are just as much for me as they are for them! They give me the perfect excuse to buy fun props and items I have been eyeing for a long time, such as this letter board! If the parties were truly just for my kids, we could just fill a room with their friends, pizza, soda, bottled water, lots of candy and electronic devices!

BUT...birthday parties to me are like a right of passage for us moms! Celebrating another year with our great survival skills!!

All kidding aside, my kids love to pick out their own theme, then I go for it! Taking ownership and responsibility seriously, is the way I roll. Designing and styling a Tropical Flamingo Fest so perfect for any age but totally enjoyed by my 11 year old daughter and her friends, was so much fun!

This year she helped me with so many of the decorations, from spray painting the flamingos to blowing up the balloons to styling the table {I think I have a creative stylist on my hands}!

I start the party planning process once the theme is decided upon, then I create a vision board to help me get the creative juices flowing. We wanted a very bright and cheerful color palette which we had not seen before for a flamingo party. What color is better than yellow to make everything more cheerful? The broad yellow striped fabric was perfect and matched the invitation to a T! Next I brought in the greens and pinks to match the tropical flamingo feel.

Designing the invitation was the easy part, now to match and color coordinate. A HUGE thank you to all the brands who helped us take this party from ordinary to extraordinary!

We received so many comments about how we made the rockets for our fun Patriotic Party like it's 1776! So we want to share the tutorial with you on how to make your own.

What you will need:

Red and Navy Spray Paint
Red, White and Navy Tissue Garland
Striped party hats
Tape

Directions:

  • Blow up the balloon
  • Choose your paint color and spray paint the balloon {note** if you are hanging on a white wall, you may want to only paint the front of the balloon so it doesn't get paint on the wall}
  • Let the balloon fully dry
  • Tape the "nose" of the one {see photos below}
  • Using the fishing line, tie on the tissue tassels to the bottom part of the number one {see photos below}
  • String the fishing line through the top two hanging holes on the balloon and tie a loop {see photos below}
  • Feed the fishing line through the top of the party hat
  • Attach to the wall
You are done! That was super easy peesy!!

Now you have your own 4th of July rockets and it's time to enjoy the party!

The countdown is on for 4th of July celebrations, are you ready? If not, after reading this fun and festive post Party like it's 1776, you will be!

DECOR
Keeping the party decor simple is key. We started with the backdrop, Oriental Trading has a great selection of both number and letter balloons. You can purchase either the silver or the gold mylar balloons and spray paint them whatever color you would like. We wanted the numbers to match our DIY "party" balloon and "rockets". Tutorial on the rockets coming soon.

TABLE
We like to use a tablecloth or runner, but would you believe this is not a runner but a pillar bunting? Before purchasing new items for your party, try "shopping" your home first. Clear glass vases serve as great jelly bean holders and give height to the table! We had the mini silver scoops on hand and added color coordinating ribbon to tie into the theme.

What You Need:

By simply adding ribbon to a white serving tray and laying the colored rock candy on top is a fun way to display them.

Another way to add height to your table, is by using these white candle holders to lift the colored gumballs.

Place festive candy in clear jars so your guests know what is available for their enjoyment and to stay with the theme.

BEVERAGES
To hold the beverages, decorate your bar cart and set it next to your party table. Guests can serve themselves or grab an already made drink such as these champagne cocktail sparklers, which were served in clear vintage soda bottles. Super easy and oh so delicious. Recipe coming soon.

What You Will Need:

No 4th of July party is complete without the original Bomb Pops. We placed ours in a galvanized round tin with ice in the bottom to help the melting.

Hope you were able to get some great ideas from this fun party, we love sharing inspiration and ideas with you. Now go party like it's 1776!
