Summer is the perfect time to throw a Shark Themed Pool Party. Since my son's birthday is in December and he has always wanted a pool party, I decided to celebrate his half birthday this year! He was super excited when he found out all of his friends could make it, since this usually doesn't happen for his actual birthday.

Affiliate links are included in this post, which means if you make a purchase using one of the links, I will earn a small commission, but it will not cost you one penny! But it does help to keep my website running. Thank you! The following is based strictly on my honest opinion. I only recommend products and brands I love and use personally.

Since we don't have a pool of our own, I rented out the neighborhood clubhouse and pool. It worked out great!

When planning and designing a party, I like to start with the invitation, as it sets the tone.

I mailed these fun cut-out shark heads to all of Greyson's friends in a black box filled with "water" {blue paper shred}. I love to get the guests excited for the party from the moment they open the invitation!

But if you prefer a much more simple invitation, I also created this one which I love just as much!

When hosting a Shark Themed Pool Party, it is necessary to have some shark pool toys for the guests to play with, you can find the large red and blue sharks here, the blue shark soakers here, the mini shark dive toys here and of course no pool party is complete without water guns! The kids loved them all!

And of course you can not forget the sunscreen! While living in Texas the heat is high during the summer months, so I am always prepared with sunscreen!

The party was from 1-4 pm, so I kept the snacks on the lighter side.

Keeping with the theme, I served some of the snacks {gold fish, Swedish fish and "puffer fish" cheese puffs} in silver pails and the pretzels were placed in treat cones, I love when guests can just grab and go! Mini gummy fish in the colors of the party were placed on top of the cupcakes while some were topped with cookie shark fins! Fins up friends!!!

Since the kids were swimming and playing outside, I wanted to make sure I had plenty of fruit and cold beverages on hand. Placing large gummy sharks and the shark and surfboard cookies on "sand" made a great impact and the kids loved it!

Can you believe I made the cookies?! Not bad for my first time! I will have a tutorial on these soon. I promise they are WAY easier than they look!

To keep everyone cool on this very hot day {102} I had plenty of water and Gatorade on hand.

How fabulous are these beverage napkins? My sweet friend, Bethany of Pink Poppy Weddings created them for me to match our fun shark head cut-out invitation! Greyson and his friends thought they were fun!

Instead of goodie bags, I made, yes I MADE shark pinatas! Didn't they come out so cute? I will have a tutorial for these as well! It involves my Cricut Maker

Inside the belly of the shark is "chum" {Swedish fish}. I tried to DIY most of this party and I am pretty happy with how it came out! What do you think? Would you like to learn how to make the cookies and shark pinatas? I will share the tutorials with you.

Have a JAWsome time at your Shark Themed Pool Party! And if you are in the ocean, keep an eye out for sharks!
