It's time for those 3 little words kids don't want to hear ~ BACK TO SCHOOL!

Some of you may have already started and some of you may be starting in the next week or so.
I always like to celebrate the first day with a special Back to School breakfast! Today we will share with you the breakfast we created this year.

I like to make a fairly nutritious breakfast for my kiddos. I say "fairly" because cinnamon rolls aren't really all that nutritious! My kiddos LOVE homemade blueberry muffins! They are their all time favs. So of course, I had to make those. {wink}

Once I figured out what I was serving, I searched through my craft box and found most of the props for the table and banner. Added some fun mini tags {because mini is so cute} and TADA you have yourself a great first day of school breakfast!

To get the look:
  • Red or any color gingham fabric for the tablecloth
  • Books {thin and thick} for height
  • Globe or a large book opened up
  • Bud vases to hold pencils
  • Mini glass jars to hold erasers and crayons
  • Various school supplies ~ glue sticks, rulers, pencils, crayons, flashcards etc.
  • White serving dishes
To add some height, place your globe on top of a stack of books or if you don't have a globe place an open book on top of the stack. Place one grouping of foods on a cake plate, like this one. We offered milk and juice at our breakfast and served them in carafes. We found some flashcards and pinned them up on twine with mini clothes pins.

You don't have to spend a lot to host a simple surprise breakfast like this one. All it takes is your imagination to make it unique.
