This past Sunday it was dreary here in Dallas. It didn't just rain, it down poured almost all day! So what's a girl to do in weather like that? Why bake a cake! I have been wanting to bake this particular cake for awhile now and Sunday was the perfect day! We found the recipe here, but made a few changes to it.

Triple Chocolate Fudge Bundt Cake {yummmm!!} Makes my mouth water just saying the name!

Ingredients needed:
1 (18.25 oz) package chocolate cake mix {we used Chocolate Fudge}
1 (3.9 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix
1 cup sour cream
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix together the cake and pudding mixes, sour cream, oil, beaten eggs and water. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour batter into a bundt pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until top is springy to the touch and a wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool cake completly in pan for about 90 minutes before inverting onto a plate. If desired, dust the cake with powdered sugar or top with your favorite chocolate frosting.

or try:

Our Favorite Chocolate Frosting
1/2 cup butter OR margarine, softened
1/4 cup milk
1-2 teaspoons vanilla (depending on your taste)
3 Tablespoons cocoa
2-3 cups of powdered sugar
Mix all ingredients together and either spread or pipe on top of cooled cake.

And there you have it, a delicious sweet drink a glass of milk kind of cake!

My family loved it and the whole house was filled with a wonderful scent!

If you make one for you and your family, we'd love to see photos!

Last week we were invited to attend a Special Birthday Party by The Birthday Party Project! If you haven't heard of them you can find out more information here
Last month, for my daughter's birthday, she requested no presents be given to her, instead she wanted to donate new clothing and shoes to kids which are less fortunate than herself. My daughter is a very caring and loving little girl and I thought it was petty special that she wanted to do this at such a young age.
My husband and I thought it would be a great experience for all of us to take part in the birthday party. We helped decorate and run the craft tables. My kids helped with Sand Art table.

About 48 kids showed up, of which 8 wee celebrating birthdays this month.
It was so fun to watch the kids excitedly go from craft to craft and make something that was their own.

Everyone gets a cupcake, but the birthday kids get their own mini cake! I thought that was a great idea! The kids felt so special receiving their own cake!

The kids enjoyed opening their gifts and seemed to love them! We brought a huge bag full of clothes and shoes for ages 12 months to 10 years old. The Birthday Party Project was very grateful for our donation. This is such a worthy cause and we are so excited we got to be a part of it!

Both my kids said they liked helping others and want to do it again! I love when a life lesson can be enjoyed by all!
If you would like to donate to this awesome cause or learn more about the organization, click here!
Do you volunteer? If so, where?
