February 2014 | BellaGrey Designs

This past weekend we made the delicious Chex Party Mix with some of our own ingredients! Read on to find out how to make yours!

What you'll need:
Sprinkles {anything fun will work}
Chocolate bite sized candies {we used M&Ms}
Mini Marshmallows
Rice Chex Cereal
Chocolate Melting Chips

Place 2 1/2 cups of dry Chex Rice Cereal in a plastic bag

Melt your 1/2 cup chocolate melting chips in the microwave for appropriately 1 - 1 1/2 minutes. Keep an eye on it so it does not burn. Stir the chips to ensure all chunks are melted. Add the melted chocolate to your Rice Chex in the bag.

Once the cereal is fully coated with the chocolate, add 1/3 cup powdered sugar to the bag and shake gently to coat all the cereal. Pour the cereal out onto wax paper and let dry for about 15 minutes. While that is drying, take another 2 cups of the cereal, 1/4 cup M&Ms, 2 Tablespoon Valentine's Day sprinkles and 1 cup mini marshmallows and place in a bowl. Once the chocolate covered mix is dry add that to the above bowl of ingredients. Mix all together. Now you have a fun and festive Valentine's Day Chex Mix snack.

Store in an airtight container or place in fun mini baking boxes such as these.

About six months ago we were asked to organize and host a fundraiser on behalf of  Operation Shower! On November 21st we hosted our fundraiser and we are happy to share it with you now.
We had several wonderful vendors and so many friends show their support for this fabulous organization.
Operation Shower is about celebrating, honoring and showing love to military families.  Operation Shower is a  501(c)(3) non-profit organization and their mission is to provide joyful- AWESOME — baby showers for military families to ease the stress of deployment.
For military families who are expecting a new baby and are experiencing or have recently experienced deployment, they accomplish their mission through:
  • hosting amazing baby showers;
  • delivering high-quality products;
  • creating a shared experience;
  • bringing recognition to military families; and
  • working with individuals and companies to provide them an opportunity to show their appreciation and love for military families.

We hosted our fundraiser at The Angelika Film Center and Cafe at Mockingbird Station in Dallas. Our sweet friend, Toni helped us secure the venue and it was full force party planning and executing from that point on!

Our guests having a great time!

Ginger was sweet enough to talk about and explain what Operation Shower is to all of our guests.

We offered our guests a CHANCE to win $5,000 CASH!!! Who could pass that up?

Pure Dental was our headling sponsor for the CHANCE Cash giveaway!  Aren't they all so cute!!

Pure Dental is just steps away from The Angelika Film Center and Cafe. They were super excited to sponsor this giveaway for us! They also donated two different Sonic Care Systems for the raffle.

Our mini silent auction was a huge success ~ three sets of Dallas Mavericks tickets which included parking passes and $60 gift cards for food and beverages; a mini portrait session with Kristin Nicole Photography; custom painted children's step stool by Sugar Bear Designs and a few CAbi clothing items completed our auction. See I told you it was small!!

The raffle was a great way to get our guests involved in the evening events. We had everything from a $50 Movida gift card to a couple $20 iFratelli's gift cards to the Sonic Care Systems mentioned above.

Here Ginger is drawing for the BIG chance cash giveaway and the name is........

Sweet Andrea!

Did she win the $5,000???? No, but she did win teeth whitening for LIFE from Pure Dental!!

Our guests brought their appetites to the party and were not disappointed!

The Angelika provided the wine and beer at the cash bar.

All of our guests went home with goodie bags, full of all kinds of wonderful items. We went to all the merchants in the Mockingbird Station complex and asked them to donate. Everyone was so generous! We loved informing people about the work Operation Shower does.

The beautiful bags, ribbon and tissue were donated by Nashville Wraps

A huge THANK YOU to all the vendors and merchants who donated their time, money, goods and services to help make our fundraiser the success it was!!
