Today we welcome, Nancy of A to Zebra Celebrations

I was born and raised in Mexico. I came to the US when I was 18 years old. I married a wonderful man on May 5th, 2001. We have two beautiful girls. Ashley is 6 years old. Hannah is 5 years old. I am a stay-at-home mommy. These little beauties are my world. I’ve loved planning every single party for them!

I started my blog in late December 2009 to share my creative party ideas. My goal is to inspire others through my blog. A To Zebra Celebrations etsy shop was opened in the fall of 2009 after I organized a zebra party for my oldest daughter when she turned 4. I was honored to have been featured on several popular sites. Shortly after that, people started inquiring about the zebra party decorations I had created.

My passion for parties and entertaining started when I was a little girl. My mom hosted the most amazing parties for my siblings and I. She is very creative. She is an entrepreneur and owns a fun craft store in Mexico. She is to blame for my crazy, and outrageous obsession for parties!

Fantasy Football Party ~ New Collection

Awhile back, Nancy of A to Zebra Celebrations and I collaborated for her husband's birthday! She wanted to throw him a "Fantasy Football" party! Of course, we were so excited to be part of this! A couple of weeks ago our Baking Party was featured on The Party Wagon's beautiful blog, click here to see full feature!! We want to share it here on our blog too for all of you that may have missed it.

Back in July, I created a Hot Pink and Orange Baking Party for my sweet angel girl, who loves to help me bake!! This was such the perfect party theme for her. A few years ago, when my daughter was old enough, we started baking at Christmas time. She loved doing this together, so last Christmas, Santa brought her an Easy Bake Over {boy, have they changed since I was a little girl}. Every time I bake {which is OFTEN} she helps me in the kitchen and also makes something in her own oven.

I knew I wanted to incorporate the "baking theme" throughout the entire party. We started off with painting the mini rolling pins in the colors of the party, then we wrapped the invitation around the rolling pins and added the tag, "You're Invited" to it. We hand delivered each invitation {all 20 of them ~ thank goodness all the kids live close by}. My mom was super sweet and made my daughter's very own apron for the party! My daughter was over the moon with excitement when she saw her apron for the first time! I sewed all the ruffled streamers for the back drop and made all the chefs hats!

I used baking pans and sheets as well as measuring cups and spoons to hold all the party food and crafts. I created the letter I with hot pink and orange cupcake liners. One of the focal points on the dessert table was a vase filled with whisks, spatulas, spoons and scrappers ~ all fun baking tools!

We went home to Colorado this summer and I found the super cute mini whisks in one of the shops in Estes Park ~ who would have known? These became part of the favor bags, along with a cupcake {the birthday girl helped make} and a cookie with her initial on it.

 The kids had two projects they created while at the party ~ decorate their own chefs hat and design their own aprons. After they finished those, they decorated a cookie and cupcake ~ which they all ate promptly!! I'm not sure which they had more of ~ frosting or sprinkles!! The kids appeared to have a lot of fun!!

Yep, we've decided to do it ~ to take the next step in our beautiful and fun adventure with BellaGrey Designs! You asked and we have listened!!

As we look toward our future, we know this will be a great endeavor for us!! For awhile now we've been contemplating on whether or not to offer DIY Party Printables as part of our services. Since we opened our doors, in September 2010, we've only offered fully assembled paper party decor. While that has been great, we find we are overwhelmed with orders at times and having to turn away customers is no fun!!

We have been busy creating some new collections that will be offered as printables in our new section of our ETSY shop to be called  "We Create It, You Print It"!! Of course, all of our existing collections will be offered as printables as well as fully assembled. You will soon have your choice of either having us create, print and assemble your party for you or you print and assemble your party! 

This will be a work in progress so please bare with us as we add this new concept to our growing business!! We may close our shop here and there, but we hope to be fully up and running by September 23rd ~ which also happens to be our 2 year Blogiversary!! We plan on having a big giveaway to celebrate this fabulous occasion!!

Thank you all for your love, encouragement and support over these past two years. We're super excited about this new endeavor, we hope you are too!!

We're taking the next step.......

Look what we found in my son's room yesterday while we were re-organizing it!!!

Yep...... a SCORPION!!!! YIKES!! Thank goodness it was dead, but it does not appear to be dead long, since everything is still in tact!!! Needless to say, we cleaned EVERYTHING in his room ~ dumped out toys, shook blankets, pick everything up off the floor!!!! 

We haven't seen one of this nasty things in a LONG time ~ in our house anyway! A few years ago we dealt with them shortly after we had our house built, but have not seen them since!! I called the Bug Guy and he'll be out tomorrow! Not soon enough for me!! The kids don't know about it ~ because they would FREAK ~ like mommy did and will continue doing until the Bug Guy gets here tomorrow!! We normally don't wear shoes in the house, but after finding this, we have all started wearing shoes!!! I can't even walk around the house in the dark without shoes!! 

Come on tomorrow morning!!!! I am just so scared one is still in the house and will sting the kids!! Have you ever seen one of these or have to deal with them at all? Any suggestions on how to keep the family safe from them, until tomorrow morning?

YIKES!

Look what we found in my son's room yesterday while we were re-organizing it!!!

Fun Halloween Treats

A while back we created a photo shoot for our new Halloween Collection ~ which we'll share with you very soon!! For the shoot, my kiddos wanted to be a part of it so they made chocolate covered Oreos {in different colors} and added some sweet mini marshmallows for eyes!! They came out super cute and I wanted to share them with you today!

My kiddos love to bake and create! Do you make any fun Halloween crafts or goodies with you kids? If so, we'd love to see them!!

Best Dressing Tips for Tall Women

For all those women who are naturally tall maybe even more than 6 feet, fashion trends may turn out to be a disaster, be it a pair of jeans, t-shirt, skirt or dress, most of them looked turned down due to the height. Fashion trends often put out by celebrities cannot be adopted due to the height.

But here is a list of trends that can be adopted, no matter how tall you are:

  

·         Any burnt orange, peach or tangerine color dresses can be adopted by tall women as these can nicely compliment their height.

·         Bright yellow accessories are the in thing for tall women this season as the focus is turned to these accessories.

·         Head to toe black may be the ideal choice for someone who is tall as the color can bring out a tall woman’s great figure complimenting the height.

·         Another ideal choice for a tall woman to look sexy in is a long sleeve mini, as this dress with its full sleeve can make one look slender but shorter.

This season fill your wardrobe with colors that go with your height. The following colors are best suited for tall women, but be aware that tall women must always avoid going head to toe monochromatic. If your long dress is of a solid color, make sure to break it up with a belt or a long necklace of a contrast color.

·         Misty sun faded blue: This shade would go for any skin tone and can be your choice of a dress this season if you are tall. A contrast of white and bronze with this color would be the ideal choice to make you look more wonderful.
