If you're a local Texan ~ even if you're not ~ you need to know today is the opening day of The State Fair of Texas!!! The fair runs until October 23rd. I not a big fan of hot dogs or corny dogs, but each year we go to the fair we ALWAYS get a Fletcher's Corny Dog!!! There's just something about having a corny dog at the fair ~ a little like having a hot dog at a baseball game ~ just tastes good!!  They are super yummy with a lot of mustard!!! 
Big Tex ~ in the photo above is 52' tall!! You can see him from almost the entire fairgrounds and he talks ~ no really!! He says, "Hi, I'm big Tex" and tells you all sorts of great information about the fair. The kids think he is pretty funny. If you haven't experienced the State Fair of Texas you should really do it at least once in your life. The weather is perfect right now too ~ low to mid 80s ~ it sure beats the 100 degrees we had yesterday!!!

State Fair of Texas 2011

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the SITS Bloggy Boot Camp Denver!! It was an experience I'll never forget ~ it was fabulous!! There was so much energy in the room ~ it was incredible!! I was blessed to be surrounded by so many talented women all in one place. Although I couldn't talk {lost my voice ~ very sad about that}, I was so inspired after listening to the women that presented.

The day started bright and early with a breakfast hosted by Invisalign. The event was held at The Denver Regency Hotel, in Downtown Denver. In the morning, several fabulous women spoke, Authentic Branding by Amy Bradley-Hole {@AmyBHole}, Mastering the Creative Process by Jillian Tohber {@CatchMyParty} and Blog Design Basics by Aimee Giese {@GreebleMonkey}. I took so many notes ~ they all gave such insight to each topic!! I'm just giddy thinking back on each presentation and how much I learned!! At lunch I had the great pleasure to be seated at the same table as Toni Spilsbury and our earlier speaker Amy Bradley-Hole. Talk about a great lunch!!

After lunch I attended a break out session ~ Business of Blogging. Where more fabulous women spoke, Legal Contracts by Danielle Liss {@Danielleliss}, Hyper-Local Blogging by Barb Likos {@ChaoticBarb} and Fiona Bryant {@BanteringBlonde}, Going Pro - What You Need to Know by Tiffany Romero, the mastermind behind SITS, {@TiffanyRom} and Welcome to the World of Vlogging by Jessica Bern {@BernThis}. WOW!!! My head was spinning with all the great information!! I wrote so fast I can barley read my notes. This session was not only informative, but funny too!!

 I was one of four women from the Dallas area ~ Crazy!! I was super excited to meet the others and connect with them. This was my first blog conference and I learned so much ~ Thank you Tiffany & Francesca for a great conference!! I have to tell you, these women are unbelievable!! I learned I needed to start Tweeting, so if you tweet, you can connect with myself and BellaGrey Designs at @BellaGreyDesign.

After the conference was over ~ we all enjoyed glasses of wine provided by Mirassou Winery. There we all mixed and mingled and recapped the days events. I met several new friends.
Andrea and Haley are promoting a book called "Laughing at Wall Street" set to be published in November. Toni is behind The Organized Cook ~ if you don't follow her, you should!! She is author of The Organized Cook Weekly Meal Plan System.

I met so many incredible women there ~ wish I had a voice so I could have talked with more!! I'll be attending the SITS Bloggy Boot Camp ~ Dallas September 15, 2012!! Will you be there?

It has been four days since the conference and I'm still giddy with excitement of what I learned and who I met!!

Event ~ SITS Bloggy Boot Camp Denver 2011



This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the SITS Bloggy Boot Camp Denver!! It was an experience I'll never forget ~ it was fabulous!! There was so much energy in the room ~ it was incredible!! I was blessed to be surrounded by so many talented women all in one place. Although I couldn't talk {lost my voice ~ very sad about that}, I was so inspired after listening to the women that presented.

The day started bright and early with a breakfast hosted by Invisalign. I'm leaving today for Colorado for the SITS Bloggy Boot Camp ~ although it's not until Saturday, I'm going home to spend some quality time with my family!! I'm super excited to share with you our newest collection!!! I created this dessert table to show off our Girls Night Out Halloween Collection!! I hope this jump starts your planning for a Halloween Girls Night Out party or get together!! Enjoy the photos!! The details are below!!






































I decided to create something fun for all of us girls that have been thinking about hosting a Girls Night Out Halloween party, but haven't done so yet. If I host one will you come??
 I also created a children's Hallow Boo Collection this year!!

To get the look:

You see so much of the traditional orange and black for Halloween, that I focused on lime green and black, with splashes of the other Halloween colors in our paper party decor. I asked a friend of mine if she'd create a sassy, whimsical witch's boot and she did a fabulous job! From there I created the rest of the paper products, sticking with the lime green and black throughout.

When looking for a backdrop, I wanted something that would "fit" in with the theme but not over power it. I also wanted something a little more girlie and elegant. I realized I had black and white damask wrapping paper in my closet and it worked perfectly!

I found a black glitter chandelier and black and lime green glitter pumpkins that added to the setting well. When I came across this wonderful tablecloth, I knew if I paired it with lime green material underneath, it would be fabulous!! It made the webs, spiders and bats "pop". In keeping with the theme, I borrowed the witch's hat from a friend and trimmed it with a lime green boa.

I used white and clear plates and cake stands as not to take away from the theme, but to blend in with it. Of course, I used several spiders and placed them accordingly.


For the treats and drinks, I wanted to try to stay on the healthy side of things with a few temptations as well. I went to the grocery store and scoured the fruit and vegetable isle for lime green items. Wow!! There are quite a few to choose from, I picked some of my favorites. Green grapes, Granny Smith apples and limes ~ can't have Margaritas without limes!! I told you there were temptations!! Besides, you can't have a Halloween party, let alone a girls night out Halloween party without some adult beverages.

While at the store, I decided I wanted some Oreos {since I was craving them and it was 9:30pm}. As I walked down the cookie isle with some SERIOUS blinders on, there were the mint Oreos staring at me. I could see them looking great for the dessert table I was working on!! Thank goodness for those late night cravings!!

A few weeks ago, I attended a fundraiser event that had offered some very delicious bite sized cakes. I enjoyed them so much, I inquired where I could purchase some for myself. Earlier this week, I decided some Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Bundtinis were in my future!! Instead of using the ever popular cupcake, I chose to use these!!

New to the Shop ~ Girls Night Out Halloween Collection !!


I'm super excited to share with you our newest collection!!! I created this dessert table to show off our Girls Night Out Halloween Collection!! I hope this jump starts your planning for a Halloween Girls Night Out party or get together!! Enjoy the photos!! The details are below!!
